Whatever you have planned to do today, would you love to do that if today is going to be the last day of your life? Hmmm…. got you thinking, isn’t it.
Try to ponder over these:
Who would you like to talk to if this was the last day of your life?
Who would you like to see if this was the last day of your life?
Who would you like to spend your time with if this was the last day of your life?
Who would you like to apologize to if today is the last day of your life?
Who is/are the one/people you would be grateful to for the life you have if this life ends here and now?
How would you like to live the day if this was the last day of your life?
Who or what you will be thinking about if this was the last day of your life?
Some of the things that you have to say for the above mentioned questions may not be possible to implement today. But what it will definitely do is that it will shift the focus to the right things that you know means a world to you. This is needed for all of us because most of us keep doing all those things in life which is really not that meaningful for us. Sometimes we just keep ourselves busy day-in day-out so that we can run away from the reality just because it is difficult. What we do not realize is that you cannot run away from your true self. Your heart is closer to your being than your mind. Do not ignore what really matters to you. Make your life more meaningful.
When you think of the last moments of life; all the events of life converges to the present moment – NOW.
Do you think you need to change your priorities? Do you think you have ignored some people who you should not have? Do you think that you have not done something that you really wanted to contribute? Do you think you have not met someone who you should have met or spoken to in a long time.
Are you sure that you have a tomorrow or these people/things that you are ignoring have a tomorrow?
After you read this, may be you will take a brush and paper and start painting or you may go to someone you love and give a kiss to him/her and surprise them, or just hold their hand tight. Or you may pick up the phone and give a call to someone who matters a lot but you have not spoken to them for long time. I don’t know what you WILL do. But you will definitely know what you SHOULD be doing. You will know what you and your life is all about. Knowing what you are and what you want is always better than not knowing. As Paulo Coelho puts it in his words, “Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worse kind of suffering.”
Whether you will be able to do what you want to do is not what is important but what is important is do you really know what you should be doing. If you do, may be, if not now, sometime in future you will be able to do.
Wish you luck…
